ICARS, a centre of IIT Roorkee jointly with Government of India - DST, at Greater Noida Campus (NCR), is mandated to network and coordinate with key sectoral Central Ministries, institutions of GoI and Research CoEs on climate change in India, for facilitation of policy linked research, action research, research to support capacity building and research integration and synthesis to strategic knowledge on climate change. ADRES Network is a central architecture of institutional network for Strategic Knowledge Framework for Climate Change. ICARS promotes professional advances, leadership, and supports policy-planning, capacity building and localization of resilience agenda. ICARS is also designated as a National Anchoring Institute and facilitating mechanism for the preparation and implementation of National Adaptation Plan w.r.t. Disaster Management and Infrastructure Resilience. ICARS is also designated as India Focal Point for Hindu Kush Himalaya DRR Knowledge Hub, and host of Wetland Knowledge Network (WKN) proposed to be established with support of partners with the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change under the aegis of National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan.
